  1. Is LordsMessage.com free?
    1. Yes LordsMessage.com is free to sign up to and create a profile. You can add your testimony and start sharing it with the world.
  1. Who is this website for?
    1. LordsMessage.com is created and run by ordinary people for ordinary people. LordsMessage.com is for everybody. It is a Christian website but you don’t have to be a Christian to be a part of the community. If you are a Christian then don’t hassle people for not being a Christian and if you’re not a Christian, don’t hassle people for being Christian.
  1. I can’t seem to login.
    1. If you have forgotten your password or which email address you used to sign up with, please use the “Forgotten password?” link next to the login form.

  1. Someone else is using my email address - what can I do?
    1. If you believe that someone else has used your email address to create and account then please email our support team with your email address and let us know about it. We will investigate and act accordingly.
  1. I can’t see my friends.
    1. First try refreshing your page a few times. If this doesn’t work it may be due to some system maintenance going on here in the engine room. Please wait 24 hours for the feature to come back online. If after 24 hours your feature still doesn’t appear to work properly you should send us an email to our support team.
  1. Can I hide my online status?
    1. We’re constantly updating and upgrading, adding new features and tweaking existing systems. We’re aware that other social networking websites allows its users to cloak their online status so others don’t know when they’re online. If you would like this feature to be added please send a request for this to our support team.
Privacy and Safety
  1. Someone on LordsMessage.com is bugging/harassing/threatening/stalking me – what can I do about it?
    1. Please do not get into verbal or email arguments or fights with people, please use the “report me” link to make a complaint about a particular person. To do this go to the persons profile page and use the “Report Me” link on their profile page. If you cannot view their page because it is set to private you can forward an email they sent to you or a comment or story that this person has written to our support team.
  2. Can I block another LordsMessage.com user?
    1. It is not possible to block another user at this stage. We believe that if a user needs to be blocked then perhaps they should be banned from the website. Please report someone you need to block and explain why and we will investigate each individual circumstance.
  3. Someone is claiming to be me or someone else – what can I/we do about it?
    1. Please report any imposter to our support team with as much detail about the identification of the person such as a link to their profile page. Also as much information about yourself to prove that you are you and that they are not you.
  4. Can I set my profile to private?
    1. Yes. If you login and go to your “Edit Profile” tab on your navigation bar you can choose to switch your profile to “Friends Only” or “Everyone”. If your profile is set to “Friends Only” this is the same as switching to private as only people on your friends list can view your profile.
  5. I think someone has hacked my account, and I cannot login and things look different – what do I do?
    1. If you think that your profile page and/or login details have been compromised please send an email to our support team immediately. They will do a security check to make sure you are you and then email you a new password.
  6. How do I stop people from stealing my photos?
    1. Unfortunately you cannot stop people from stealing your photos. If you are particularly concerned about this we suggest that you a) do not put any images that you don’t want stolen on the internet, and b) set your profile to private and only add friends who you know and trust. If you’re a professional photographer we also suggest that you watermark and copy write all of your images.
Edit Profile
  1. My profile picture appears to be uploaded but is not showing on my profile picture.
    1. Images for your profile have to be less than 4 megabytes. If you have just uploaded your profile picture you may notice that it is appearing on your story and in other places but not on your profile page. Please be patient, it might take an hour or so to be resized and embedded on your profile. If it hasn’t appeared after a few hours please try uploading and waiting again. If it still doesn’t appear please email our support team and let us know.

  3. How do I change my profile picture?
    1. It is easy to change your profile picture. Click on the “Edit Profile” tab on the top navigation bar which appears when you are logged in. Simply click “browse” and select a new profile picture, check the terms and conditions and copy write box and click “Upload”. Done.
  4. What size can image files be?
    1. All image files have to be less than 4 megabytes.
  5. How do I find people?
    1. Easy. On the top navigation bar click “Network”. This is where you search for people. You can search by persons name, profile name, email address, their interests, favourite books, movies, music and more. If you aren’t looking for anyone in particular you can just browse through peoples profile pictures.
  6. I want to send an email out to all my email contacts, myspace and facebook friends and ask them to join me on LordsMessage. Is there a simple way to do this?
    1. Yeah sure. Just click on the “Share Me” link on your profile page or the “Send to Friends” link on your inspiring story if you have written one. This will allow you to import your hotmail, gmail, msn, yahoo etc address books to email all of your friends with a link. Or you can choose to send the link to all of your friends on other social networking sites such as myspace and facebook. Pretty cool huh?
  7. How do I ask someone to be my friend?
    1. Simple – just go to their profile page and click on their “Add Me” link. You will be able to write a brief message to them and click send. They will receive a notification of a friend request from you. All you have to do is wait for them to respond.
  8. I just opened and there is no information on it. Where do I update my information?
    1. Just click on the “Edit Profile” link. Here you can enter all the information about yourself that you like. There is no limit to how much you can write about yourself.
  9. Can I have other background designs?
    1. We are working on creating new background designs for you. Right now we are limited with our budget to how much we can do. Eventually we hope to open up the website to developers to create open source backgrounds that you will be able to use. Please be patient.
  10. How do I change my password?
    1. Changing your password is pretty straight forward too. Login, click on “Edit Profile” and enter your new password and then enter it again to confirm it. Make sure that you can remember your password for next time you log in.
  11. Can I change my url?
    1. No. Once you have registered, the url you created when you registered is the url you are stuck with. If you really need to change your url you need to create a new account.
  12. Can I change my profile name?
    1. Sure can. When you register your default profile name will be your username. Click on the “Edit Profile” tab on the navigation bar when logged in. Here you can delete the old and enter your new profile name.
  13. My profile features are arranged differently to some others. How can I rearrange the layout of my profile?
    1. All you do is mouse over the header bar on each feature on your profile page. You will see the mouse change shape into arrows. Left mouse click and hold. Move the mouse and drag the feature to where you want it to be. You’ll work it out.
  14. The time and date on my profile is different to my actual local time and date..?..
    1. You can change the time and date on your profile page to your local time and date by clicking on the “Edit Profile” tab on the top navigation bar when logged in. Here you can use the drop down menu to choose your local time zone. When you have selected your local time zone the time and date shown on your profile page should now be your local time and date.
  15. My “Last Login” counter on my profile is wrong..?..
    1. Your “Last Login” counter on your profile page is calculated off your computers time clock. If your computers time clock is different to your local time then your “Last Login” counter will be wrong. If this bothers you try changing your computers time and date clock.
  16. Can I hide features on my profile that I no longer need or am never going to use?
    1. Yes. You can choose to hide any features you aren’t going to use on your profile page. For example; if you do not want to write an inspiring story or you’ve written one but don’t want it on your profile page you can click on “Settings” on the top navigation bar when you are logged in. Here you can turn on and off the features you wish to hide on your profile page. If you want to set your entire profile page to private “Friends Only” you can do that in the “Edit Profile” tab next to the “Settings” tab.
  17. How do I set my profile to private?
    1. Yes. If you login and go to your “Edit Profile” tab on your navigation bar you can choose to switch your profile to “Friends Only” or “Everyone”. If your profile is set to “Friends Only” this is the same as switching to private as only people on your friends list can view your profile.
Inspiring Story
  1. How / where do I write my inspiring story?
    1. Ok. To write your inspiring story you need to click on the “Inspiring Stories” link on the top navigaton bar. Here you can click on the “Add your own story” button and you’ll be taken through the process. Alternatively you can find the “Add you own story” button at the bottom of other peoples stories.
  2. How / where do I comment on an inspiring story?
    1. At the bottom of each story is a “Comment” link. Simply click on this link and tyoe your comment in the popup window and click “add”. You can also comment on another persons comment. In the persons comment pane click on the “Comment” link and type your comment in the popup window and click “add”. You will see you comment has been added below the other persons commented and indented so other people know that it is a comment to a comment.

Registration
  1. Is it FREE to register or sign up?
    1. Sure it is! Get going now! You can sign up, create a profile, write and upload your story, create photo albums, add and network with friends and other people all for the low low cost of zero!
  2. What can I do for FREE?
    1. Everything that the website can do! You can even offer us suggestions on making it better for free!
  3. How do I register?
    1. Go to the www.LordsMessage.com homepage and click on one of the “Register fore Free” banners or links. You will be walked through the whole process and in about 5 minutes you should be making your new profile page your own.
  4. What information do you require from me to register?
    1. Only your name, email address and chosen password so we can identify you when you log in. We also require your location (not specific address) so we can cater specifically to languages and cultures. We also require your age to determine that you are actually over the minimum age allowed to use this website.
  5. Why do you need certain information from me to register?
    1. Simple. Click on the “Register for free” button on the www.LordsMessage.com homepage. Register by entering your information and choosing a personal and secure password. Go to your email that you registered with and wait for an email from us with a link to confirm your registration. This is how we know that you are you and not someone else trying to register using your email account. Then send an invitation out to all of your friends to join you and check out your LordsMessage.com profile. By this stage you profile page has been created and you need to go to the “Edit Profile” tab on the top navigation bar when you’re logged in and start adding all your information about yourself and upload a profile picture before all of your friends come check you out. All this can take just 15 minutes depending upon how much you want to talk about yourself. There is no limit so go nuts!

iPrayer
  1. What is the iPrayer?
    1. The iPrayer is where you can tell your friends what is on your heart to pray for. It can also be used as a tool to send prayer requests to your friends. It can also be for Praise Reports. If your prayers are being answered or someone else’s have you can tell your friends about it here!
  2. How do upload a iPrayer?
    1. Log in and go to your profile page. Click on the “Add” link on the top bar of the iPrayer feature. You can type your prayer in the popup window and click “add”. Pretty simple huh?
  3. What is the “Subscribe to these prayers” link on the iPrayer feature for?
    1. This link is for people to subscribe to your prayers or evn for you to subscribe to your own so that every time you upload a new prayer it will appear on whichever social networking site they’re subscribing with. Give it a go – it’s cool!
Journals
  1. What is the Journal feature for and what can I journal about?
    1. The Journal feature is for you to write a daily journal if you wish. Many people read the bible daily and write about what they’ve learnt. It doesn’t have to be about the bible it can be about your day – kind of like a diary. It can be a daily message to your friends if you want to minister to them.
Blogs
  1. What are blogs?
    1. Blogs are for when you want o write or share about something in particular. It might be a one off thing about anything. It can be funny, sad, inspirational, motivational, spiritual or just about nothing in particular. It could be poetry. Whatever you want to write about and you want your friends and perhaps the world to read.
Mail
  1. How does the mail system work?
    1. The LordsMessage “Mail” system linked to your profile page is an internal Mail system unique to LordsMessage.com. It can be used to contact people within your friends list but can also be used to email people outside of the LordsMessage network. You can use it as your primary email account if you wish.
  2. Who can I email?
    1. Whoever you feel like.
  3. Can I send emails to addresses outside of the LordsMessage email system?
    1. Yep.
  4. Can I email multiple people at the same time?
    1. Of course.
  5. Can I do an email broadcast to all my friends?
    1. Ahuh! Just select all of your friends and write your email and click send. It’s that easy. Easy than all the other silly convoluted system huh?
Message Board
  1. How do I add a comment on someone else’s message board?
    1. Go to their profile page, scroll down to the top of their “Message Board” and click “add comment”. Write in your comment in the popup window and click “add”. And that is all there is too it.
  2. Can I add comments to my own message board?
    1. Of course! Studies show that 90% of people talk to themselves on a regular basis. Actually we just made that up – but feel free to add comments on your own Message Board either to yourself or to other people who are using your Message Board.

  1. What is the image feature?
    1. The image feature is where you can upload all of your pictures from your computer to share with your friends and your friends can view them.

LiveChat
  1. How do I open LiveChat?
    1. Click on the “LiveChat” link on the top of any page. You’ll see it there on the right hand side in blue text. Keep checking back with this feature as we expand its capabilities and add cool new stuff.
  2. What is the LiveChat?
    1. LiveChat allows you to talk in a chat room environment with your friends and with other random people. If you don’t want to talk to other random people you can invite your friends or anyone into a private chat and it works the same as an instant messenger.
  3. Who gets to chat on LiveChat?
    1. Anyone and everyone so please do not post any personal information in the LiveChat room. No passwords, home address, full name, email address, phone number, social security number, where you live, go to school or work. You never know who is watching your conversation or who you are really talking to.
  4. Can I instant message?
    1. You can use the LiveChat room to instant message. Just invite the person you want to IM with into the LiveChat room then right mouse click on the persons profile name on the right hand side and choose “Private”. Then you can chat with each other in a private room and no one else can see what you’re talking about.
Churches
  1. Someone is pretending to be our church, what can we do?
    1. If you are a staff member of a church and you’ve found someone outside of your staff has started up a profile page pretending to be your official church page you should email our support team immediately and give us as much detail proving that you are an official representative for your church and that the established profile page has been created by somebody unauthorised to represent your church. Our support team will have to investigate the case thoroughly and perhaps will need extra information from you.
  2. How do I sign our Church up to the church data base and profile account?
    1. The church database is still under construction. Once the database is loaded there will be a number o churches existing in the database. First you should search for your own church details. If your church exists you should update all of the information. If your church does not exist in the database you should create a new entry with all of your current information.
  3. How do I find and add members of our church congregation as friends to our LordsMessage.com church profile?
    1. There are a number of ways to make sure that all of your congregation are added as friends to your church profile.
      1. One way is to do a search within the LordsMessage.com Network. To do this, log in to your church profile. Click on the “Network” link on the top navigation bar and do a search for people who have listed your church as their home church.
      2. Another way is to email a copy and pasted link to your church’s profile page out to your church list of people. The link should direct people back to your church profile and a message should ask them to join, create a profile and add you as a friend.
      3. Another way is to go to your church profile, click on your “Share Me” link or the “Invite Counter” link next to your profile picture. Then import your church email address book into the email and send.
      4. The last way is to put the web address www.LordsMessage.com up on the screen during your services and get everybody to write it down, go home, register, find your churches profile and click “Add Me” on your page.
  4. How do I upload dates to the calendar on our church profile so that all our congregation see’s our dates on their profile calendar?
  5. How come I can’t use the same email address for our church profile as I used for my personal profile?
    1. You may only have one profile page per account and only one account per email address. If you have created a personal profile already and now want to create a church profile or vice versa you must use a different email address for the second -independent to the first – account.
  6. What “Copywrite” issues do I need to consider when creating my Church profile?
    1. All usual copywrite laws apply to you while using LordsMessage.com as it does anywhere else. If you are uploading anything to your profile page or database, stories, images, journals or blogs be sure that you are the rightful owner of that material OR have proper permission from the rightful owner to use it.
