My $0 to $5bn project

The plan:
I have a dream. I want to create $5bn in assets in my lifetime starting from nothing...... Why? Because it has always been a burning desire for me to be "rich" and there is nothing wrong with that and others have done it already so it certainly is not impossible.

About me:
My name is Erik Reurts and I live in Western Sydney. I am a single father of 2 lovely children aged 9 and 10 and want to be there for them as much as I can. I have always been good with money, came to Australia in 1998 with my new wife (who is Australian - I am Dutch) and from there made all the classical mistakes. Worked hard (in my pursuit of money), got 2 properties with some equity, neglected my family which resulted in a divorce and cost me my job as well.

That caused me to rethink my life. My children & family had to come first. This is 2001, my children are 1 and 2 at this stage. From there I have spend the last 8 years working around my children building my own business as a mortgage broker. That has not been hughly successful but as I said, my children came first. I also became a Christian and learned what the priorities should be in life.
Now I am almost 40 and my children are a bit older (9 and 10) and I still have this passionate dream and need to restart it!

My position at present:
Ok, not all that pretty but that is kind of the point to all of this, to start from $0.
Assets:
I have $5000 in a trading account, $1800 in one account, $1600 in another, $200 in a jar in the kitchen and $3000 with a friend. That sounds ok but I also have a total of $30,000 in credit card debt, legacy of my 8 years of financial neglect in pursuit of putting my children first. I believe that qualifies as a $0 start.
Income:
I have my mortgage business (if you need mortgage advice, google me and give me a call. I'll be happy to help) which is going ok but certainly does not pay me enough to live of: about $37000 per year. Not enough to pay the bills of a family with 2 kids.
I am living in a 4 bed house (renting) of which I am sub leasing the master bedroom for $140/week. ($7280 per year)
I recently started an ebay business that pays about $300 net per month: $3600 per year
And now I am also working a job (which is taking far too much of my time but as I was going backwards and increasing my credit card debt, I needed a way forward.) $27500 per year
So all up $75,380 per year. Not bad but a lot of work and many hours.

And if you are reading this and are thinking of start your own journey, don't be discouraged if your income is not coming close to this. For years I only had my business and my boarder (actually up until March this year) and so was only earning from that (and that was less than what it is now!). Then I decided I had enough and wanted to change my finances so I started selling on ebay. I am still doing that and still growing that. But when that was still not enough I took the job (hopefully for not to long because the time vs. pay vs is the worst out of all my income streams...). Be creative! Always believe there is a way of making it happen, you just haven't found it yet!
